Fibroblast Skin and Beauty

Laser Hair Removal uses a laser light which is emitted and absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair. The energy light is converted to heat, which damages the hair follicles that produce hair. This then inhibits or delays future hair growth.

The face normally grows in 4-week cycles, whereas the legs go through a longer cycle of new hair growth every 8-10 weeks. Which is why it is necessary to continue hair removal for several sessions and months.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the Buttocks and Peri-Anal treatment areas?

The Buttocks are the whole bum cheek region and the Peri-Anal is the anus area.

Can I have my treatment when I am menstruating?

Yes - you can still have laser hair removal treatment while on your period. We advise you to wear a tampon if you would like to have the Brazilian area treated.

Will all the treated hair be removed in one treatment?

No, each Laser Hair Removal treatment provides a 10%-15% hair reduction. It's important to complete the initial course of 8-10 treatments and at consistent intervals for optimal results. We recommend a series of 8-10 treatments done at monthly intervals and maintenance treatments every 2-3 months for permanent hair reduction. You can choose to extend the intervals if you prefer to have a minimal reduction.

How often do I need to get Laser Hair Removal?

Depending on the hair, skin type, and body area being treated, you will require treatments at 4-6 weeks intervals. For the facial area, treatments should be done in 2-week intervals unless recommended otherwise. Each part of the facial and body area has a different growing cycle, so hair reduction will vary depending on what stage your follicles are in at the time of the treatment.

Do you offer numbing for Laser Hair Removal?

Unfortunately, topical numbing creams are not safe nor effective when doing Laser Hair Removal. The sensation you feel in treatment is not felt on the skin, but in the follicle of the hair. Unfortunately numbing cream cannot penetrate deep enough to minimise the discomfort that may be felt at the follicle. Please ensure that no occlusive creams are present in the treatment areas when undergoing laser hair removal treatments.

Do hair supplements affect my treatment results?

Yes - hair supplements can affect your treatment progress as they can stimulate hair growth. We recommend to not consume hair supplements during the treatment course.

Can I have Laser Hair Removal if I am on certain medications?

Certain medications can cause photo-sensitivity to the skin and this may affect the skin's reaction to the treatment. These medications are but not limited to oral and topical vitamin A's, antibiotics, and certain anti-depressants. It is best to speak with your medical professional and obtain medical clearance. After obtaining medical clearance, we are able to test patch you with the laser to determine it is safe to commence treatment.

What skin tones can get Laser Hair Removal?

We treat all skin tones with our medical grade Candela YAG Laser. Our Laser technicians use the Fitzpatrick Classification scale to determine your skin tone at the consultation and select the most suitable machine for your laser hair removal treatment.

Does Laser Hair Removal hurt?

One of the benefits of Laser Hair Removal is that the treatment is virtually painless, especially compared to waxing. Each pulse lasts less than a second, producing a slight tingling feeling. In particularly sensitive areas, such as the upper lip, it may feel like a rubber band snap on the skin. We use an advanced Cyrogen cooling machine in conjunction with our laser device to reduce the heat sensation on the skin and minimise any discomfort.

Can I still get Laser Hair Removal if I am pregnant?

Unfortunately, you cannot do the treatment if you are pregnant. Lactating mothers are okay to do the treatment however.

What body hair colour can be treated with Laser Hair Removal?

Unfortunately, we can not treat blonde, grey/white, and some types of red hair with our Laser Hair Removal treatment. The light of the laser is only attracted to the melanin (pigment) of the hair hence these hair colours cannot be treated.

What Laser Hair Removal machine do you use?

We use the world's leading Laser Hair Removal technology. Medical-grade, Candela YAG. This technology is TGA approved. Our advanced cooling is used in all laser treatments to cool your skin during your treatment to minimise any discomfort.

Are there side effects from Laser Hair Removal?

Is Laser Hair Removal permanent?
