Fibroblast Skin and Beauty

Fibroblast Plasma Pen treatment is the only cosmetic treatment to use plasma to reduce the volume of excess skin on females and males. This treatment is low risk, has minimal downtime and more affordable than surgery. Fibroblast Treatment is known for its success with Non-Surgical Eye Lifts, Tummy Tightening, Neck Tightening and so much more.

Results are immediate! So a single session is often all you need, as all clients see results post-treatment. However, follow up treatments can be performed after 8-12 weeks if needed.

Results and the required sessions can vary each client, as it depends on the aging of the skin, its decrease in elasticity and how deep the wrinkle lines are.

The Plasma pen ionises gas in the air to create a small plasma flash. When the plasma touches the skin surface, the heat widens and is transferred into the epidermis all the way to the papillary layer which contains fibroblast cells. The skin then contracts and tightens, tones and lifts. Overall, this method activates healing and this leads to the skin remodeling and improvement in various signs of aging.

Fibroblasts are active cells in the dermis. Their function is to increase the productions of fibres, collagen and glycosaminoglycans.

The number and productivity of fibroblasts decline with age. Their density gradually begins to decrease and fibroblasts in connective tissue rarely undergo division. Small injuries from plasma stimulates fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elevates elastin levels.

During the procedure, you will discuss your desired treatment area. This consultation will be roughly 10-15 minutes, as you will also need to fill in the consultation from. Numbing cream will then be applied to the area and will be left on for 40 minutes. The actual treatment on the skin can take about 30 minutes-1.5 hours, depending on the size of the area and if more than one area is being treated. Aftercare will be applied on the skin. You will also be given a choice to purchase the aftercare product in the salon.

Frequently asked questions

Does it hurt? How long do the Carbon Crusts (dots) last?

It is similar to hair removal laser, where you will feel mild zaps (not as strong as hair removal though!). Numbing cream will be applied to minimise this feeling. The carbon crusts will show immediately and are expected to fall off from 3-5 days (can be up to 7 days). There is minimal downtime compared to other treatments/surgeries.

Are there any limitations?

- The client should be in good health at the time of the appointment, with no pre-existing health conditions. If the client displays signs of cold or flu the treatment should be rescheduled.
 - Clients skin should not be inflamed in the area we are treating prior to the procedure.
 - Clients prone to keloid scars are not ideal candidates.
 - Clients with diabetes (unless under control), healing disorders or lymphatic draining issues should not undergo treatment.
 - Clients with a sunburn/suntan should postpone treatment at least 4 weeks, as melanocytes have been activated in UV exposed skin. - Clients who have a history of Hyperpigmentation/Hypopigmentation are not ideal candidates.
 - The client must not display any tanning at the time of the treatment.
 - The client must not display herpes simplex (cold sores when working in the lip area). It is recommended they consult with their medical doctor. - If the client wears a heart pacemaker avoid treatment with electrical arcing. - Clients who are pregnant and/or breastfeeding are not ideal candidates.
 - Clients must wait 21 days after getting botox and/or fillers to do the treatment - Clients must wait 9 months after surgery on the treated area. It also depends on the healing process, surgery intensity level and aftercare - This treatment is only recommended on Fitzpatrick Scales 1-3. Fibroblast Treatment is not advised for those with very dark skin. This is because there is a higher risk of hyperpigmentation (dark spots) or hypopigmentation (light spots) following treatment.

No. The needle does not touch the skin. The needle hovers over the skin and the plasma energy shoots out 1mm above the skin. Each client will have a new disposable needle.

Can you treat more than one area on the face or body?

Yes, you can do multiple areas in one appointment. Each client has a new needle which can be used for various areas on their body. This needle will be disposed after use.

What minimal side-effects can I expect after the procedure?

Fibroblast has been shown to be a safe treatment due to its non-invasive nature when done by a fully certified technician. Still the majority of clients are likely to experience some minor side effects in the 7-10 days following treatment.

Immediately after the treatment, the are may be red and midly swollen. You may experience a sensation similar to a sunburn which will last for a few hours on the day of the treatment. If this feels uncomfortable, apply an ice pack. There will be small carbon crusts (dots) in the treated area that will last 3-7 days before naturally lifting, revealing new pink skin beneath. Swelling in the eye area is to be expected for 2-3 days following an upper eyelid treatment. To avoid any more serious side effects such as hyperpigmentation and to ensure the best results, follow the aftercare recommendations given to you by your technician.

I am unsure about how my skin will react. Can I do a patch test?

Yes, you can do a patch test at least 24 hours before the treatment.

Is it cheaper than surgery?

Certainly is! For example, upper eye lift surgery can start from $3,500. Our fibroblast upper eye lift is for $400 and definitely worth it!

How much does the treatment cost?

Prices vary on the treatment area. We can put together customised packages to combine multiple areas or packages on the same area. Please see the Price List table below.
